The Doctors and Nurses are available for consultation by appointment only. These should be made on line, by telephone, or in person at reception. In addition to the 5 Principal GPs, we offer the opportunity to consult with our nurse practitioner Sr. Ruth Boyd, and practice nurses Sr. Rosemary McElroy and Sr. Patricia Mairs.

Routine appointments may be made up to four weeks ahead with the doctor or nurse of your choice.

Routine appointments are of ten minutes duration, and we do our best to run to time. If you have a lot of things to discuss with the doctor, he or she may ask you to make a second appointment - this is done in consideration of other patients waiting.

Routine appointments can be booked and cancelled on line. Please click here to use this service

Please click here for more information on the registration process for on line access.

CVGP is an accredited training practice for GP Vocational Trainees, and we often have a trainee GPs (who are fully qualified doctors with previous experience in hospital or general practice) available for consultation.

Triaged Urgent Appointments

If you have a medical problem which you feel cannot wait until the next available appointment, after you have spoken to the receptionist you will be entered into the urgent triage system and a doctor or nurse will contact you the same day to discuss it. Please note it will be necessary for reception staff to ask some medical details.

Telephone Appointments

A number of telephone appointments are available after every morning surgery, and before every afternoon surgery. If you wish to schedule a telephone appointment please speak to the receptionist. Alternatively the receptionist can liaise with the doctor on your behalf.

Medical Students

We are an accredited teaching practice and regularly have medical students from Queen's University and Imperial College London. As far as possible we try to advise if a student will be present when an appointment is booked. If you do not wish a student to be involved with your consultation, please let us know in advance and we are happy to respect this.
